The Sri Lanka Customs has announced that cargo clearance for the three inspection yards at Colombo Port will move online starting Friday (03).
Director General Seevali Arukgoda stated that the new digital system is designed to improve transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the clearance process. Stakeholders will be able to complete procedures electronically, reducing delays and minimizing manual intervention.
The initiative is expected to streamline port operations and support smoother trade and logistics in Sri Lanka.
