Air Ceilao: Sri Lanka's Newest Airline Takes Flight

Air Ceilao, Sri Lanka's latest airline, is poised to make its mark on the aviation industry with a mission to redefine air travel. Initially targeting key destinations across the Middle East and Asia-Pacific, the airline has ambitious plans to expand to long-haul routes, including Europe and Australia, in the near future.

Currently, Air Ceilao is in the process of securing the necessary regulatory approvals from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of Sri Lanka, as part of its final preparations for launch.

"Starting with a fleet of narrow and wide bodied aircraft, we will connect passengers to major destinations in the Middle East and Asia-Pacific," the airline announced.

As the second privately owned international airline in Sri Lanka, Air Ceilao aims to offer a more customer-centric travel experience, bridging the gap between budget and luxury. The airline intends to be a trailblazer in the industry, combining the elegance of full service carriers with the affordability of low cost options, catering to both discerning travelers and budget conscious flyers. With Air Ceilao, the traditional choice between luxury and value will no longer be necessary, offering an experience that fully meets the diverse needs of its passengers.

Backed by a team of industry veterans, Air Ceilao's Chairman, Janith Kashan, emphasized the airline’s commitment to making air travel both accessible and extraordinary. "We’ve brought together an elite team with extensive aviation experience. Combined with our nationwide recruitment campaign, this will ensure that Air Ceilao is staffed by the best and brightest especially local talent, who are central to our mission," he said.

In addition to its innovative approach to air travel, Air Ceilao aims to be a catalyst for Sri Lanka’s tourism growth, creating new opportunities, generating jobs, and empowering local talent. The airline also plans to leverage Sri Lanka’s strategic position as a regional aviation hub, reshaping global perceptions of air travel.
