CMA CGM introduces a US$200 overweight surcharge on shipments from Asia to North Europe
CMA CGM has announced a revision to its Overweight Surcharge (OWS) for shipments from Asia to North Europe.
Effective from 15 September 2024 and applicable until further notice, the surcharge will be imposed on cargo moving from North East Asia, South East Asia, China, Hong Kong, and Macau SAR to North Europe, Scandinavia, Poland, and the Baltic region.
This surcharge applies exclusively to dry cargo loaded in 20-foot containers with a gross weight of 20 tons or more. The updated surcharge rate is set at US$200 per container.
