Colombo recognized as the world's fastest-growing port: Alphaliner
Colombo Port, the major transshipment hub in the Southeast Asian region, has emerged as the world's fastest-growing port, with a growth rate of 23.6% in the first quarter of 2024, according to Alphaliner. This surge has generated $50 million in revenue for the Sri Lanka Port Authority, compared to $100 million in the previous year.
Additionally, the aviation sector in Sri Lanka has seen a 25% increase in services during Q1 FY24 compared to the same period last year.
