DP World acquires 47,000 containers
DP World has, for the first time, acquired 47,000 branded containers, expanding its cargo capacity and enhancing its ability to meet customer demand. This UAE-based port operator stated that the acquisition offers customers greater access to container capacity, ensuring reliable cargo movement even during peak periods or unexpected disruptions.
The investment in a newer fleet with lower maintenance requirements is intended to cut operating costs, with these savings benefiting customers who rely on DP World for dependable, high-quality service.
Ganesh Raj, DP World's Global Chief Operating Officer for Marine Services, remarked, “In today’s complex and competitive commercial landscape, supply chains face increasing pressure. By adding 47,000 TEUs to our asset ecosystem, we’re enabling customers to access the capacity they need, confident their goods will move seamlessly from origin to destination with a single trusted partner.”
