Hapag-Lloyd announces updates to its China Germany Express (CGX) service

Hapag-Lloyd has announced enhancements to its China Germany Express (CGX) service, introducing an updated weekly rotation with expanded port coverage across Asia and Europe starting January 2025.

The revised rotation will include key ports such as Yangshan, Ningbo, and Yantian in China; Singapore; Tema in Ghana; Southampton in the United Kingdom; Rotterdam in the Netherlands; and Wilhelmshaven in Germany.

The first vessel to operate under this new schedule will be Copiapo V., set to depart from Yangshan on January 3, 2025.

As part of the changes, the CGX service will take over cargo previously managed by the FE9 service, which will conclude operations with the final sailing of CMA CGM Rivoli departing from Qingdao, China, on December 30, 2024.

Following this transition, Qingdao will temporarily be served by the FE4 service, with HMM Southampton scheduled to make its inaugural call at the port on January 8, 2025.
