Hapag-Lloyd Raises Freight Rates for Shipments from the Indian Subcontinent and Middle East to the U.S.
German shipping company Hapag-Lloyd has announced a General Rate Increase (GRI) / General Rate Adjustment (GRA) for shipments from the Indian Subcontinent and Middle East to the U.S. East Coast and Gulf Coast.
Effective November 1, this new rate structure applies to all cargo transported in 20-foot and 40-foot dry containers, refrigerated containers, and special containers, including high cube units.
The GRI/GRA will impose an increase of $1,000 per container for all shipments gated in full and will remain in effect until further notice.
The Indian Subcontinent and Middle East regions covered by this adjustment include India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan.
