HMM is a key member of the consortium selected to operate Incheon’s inaugural automated terminal
HMM is part of a consortium selected to operate the upcoming container terminal at Incheon New Port, which is set to be the first fully automated terminal in the area. The terminal, scheduled to open in 2027, will feature three berths and have an annual capacity of 1.38 million TEU, significantly boosting Incheon Port’s overall capacity to 4.08 million TEU.
Along with HMM, other members of the consortium include South Korea’s KMTC Line, Hanjin Transportation, LPG trader E1 Corp, and a terminal operations specialist. This development is a part of the larger expansion of Incheon New Port, which aims to handle increasing cargo volumes and accommodate larger vessels.
