Levant Express (LEX) to Launch in January 2025: ONE’s New Gateway to Eastern Mediterranean Markets

Ocean Network Express (ONE) is preparing to roll out the Levant Express (LEX) service in January 2025, a new addition to its portfolio that focuses on enhancing trade routes between Northern Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean. Designed to cater to growing demand in this region, the LEX service will offer customers faster and more flexible shipping options.

The LEX service will operate on a weekly schedule, with port rotations that include London Gateway (UK), Rotterdam (The Netherlands), Hamburg (Germany), Antwerp (Belgium), Alexandria (Egypt), Damietta (Egypt), and Mersin (Turkey). This route is tailored to optimize the flow of goods between these strategic ports, offering direct access to key markets in the Eastern Mediterranean.

The LEX service will benefit from ONE's extensive feeder network and transhipment hubs in Rotterdam, Alexandria, Damietta, and Mersin, ensuring seamless connections to both short-sea and deep-sea shipping routes. Customers will also gain access to ONE’s wide-ranging port and inland service options, along with dedicated local support teams positioned at each port of call.

To meet rising demand, ONE will deploy four container vessels on this route, guaranteeing consistent weekly sailings. As a lead-up to the official launch, ONE will run promotional biweekly services from November to December 2024, allowing early adopters to take advantage of the new service offering. The promotional loaders will follow a rotation through London Gateway, Antwerp, Rotterdam, Alexandria, Piraeus, Istanbul, Gebze, and Aliaga.

By adding the Levant Express to its offerings, ONE aims to strengthen trade ties and provide greater flexibility for customers moving cargo between Europe and the rapidly growing markets of the Eastern Mediterranean.
