Maersk Adjusts Surcharge on Shipments from China and Hong Kong to IMEA
Maersk, the Danish ocean carrier, has announced a revision to its Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) for shipments from China and Hong Kong to several destinations in the IMEA region, effective 1 December 2024. The surcharge will apply to shipments headed to Angola, Cameroon, Congo, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Namibia, Central African Republic, Chad, Guinea, Mauritania, Gambia, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Cape Verde Islands, and Mali.
The new surcharge rates are as follows: US$750 for 20-foot containers, US$1,500 for 40-foot containers and 45-foot high cube dry containers, and US$750 or US$1,500 for 20-foot or 40-foot refrigerated containers.
