Maersk implements a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) for routes from the Far East to India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives
Danish shipping line Maersk has announced a new Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) for routes from Far East Asia to India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and the Maldives. This surcharge will take effect on 4 and 5 November, with rates as follows:
Effective 4 November:
• Origin: Brunei, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Cambodia, South Korea, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste
• Destination: India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Maldives
• 20ft Containers: USD $1,000
• 40ft Containers & 45ft High Dry Containers: USD $1,500
Effective 5 November:
• Origin: Vietnam
• Destination: India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Maldives
• 20ft Containers, 40ft Containers & 45ft High Dry Containers: USD $1,500
This PSS aims to address increased demand during peak season and applies per container, varying by container size and point of origin.
