ONE Acquires Stake in Indonesian Container Terminal
Ocean Network Express (ONE) has announced the successful acquisition of a minority stake in New Priok Container Terminal One (NPCT1), located in Jakarta, Indonesia.
NPCT1 is a vital terminal serving established gateway markets throughout Southeast Asia. Since its inception in 2016, the terminal has an annual capacity of 1.5 million TEUs and is equipped with cutting-edge infrastructure capable of handling large mega container ships, thanks to its deep drafts and advanced facilities.
This acquisition highlights ONE’s strategic move to strengthen its global operations. Building on recent investments in terminal stakes on the US West Coast and in Europe, the addition of NPCT1 will enhance ONE’s service quality, offering faster and more reliable delivery to its customers.
Hiroki Tsujii, Global Chief Officer of ONE’s Product & Network Division, remarked, “NPCT1 is an efficient and environmentally-friendly terminal, strategically located in a rapidly growing region. Our stake in this terminal not only secures capacity in a critical gateway but also supports our long-term growth objectives.”
