PIL introduces a new feeder service to Iraq
Pacific International Lines (PIL) is introducing a new feeder service connecting Jebel Ali in the UAE to Umm Qasr in Iraq. Named the Iraq Feeder Service (IQF), this route aims to expand PIL’s Middle East reach and strengthen connectivity within its global network. The new service will complement PIL’s Gulf China Service (GCS), providing an enhanced link between the Middle East and other regions.
Scheduled to launch on November 15, 2024, the service will operate weekly, departing from Jebel Ali with PIL’s vessel Kota Handal.
William Ho, PIL’s General Manager of Long Haul Trade, stated, “The IQF service marks our commitment to expanding PIL’s presence in the Middle East and seizing growth opportunities within the region. This move reflects our dedication to customer-centric service by continually expanding our offerings for comprehensive coverage in the Middle East.”
PIL has also been upgrading its fleet, having ordered 18 new vessels over the past two years to modernize and enhance its operational capabilities.
