Qatar Airways introduces the world’s first Boeing 777 aircraft equipped with Starlink technology
Qatar Airways has elevated in-flight connectivity by launching the world’s first Starlink-equipped Boeing 777 aircraft, which flew from Doha to London on Tuesday, October 22, 2024. This significant milestone reinforces Qatar Airways’ position as the World’s Best Airline, as recognized by Skytrax in 2024, and highlights its commitment to integrating cutting-edge technology onboard.
As the largest and first carrier in the MENA region to provide passengers with Starlink’s ultra-high-speed, low-latency internet, Qatar Airways offers this service free of charge to all travelers, available from gate to gate.
The national airline of Qatar plans to exceed its initial goal of outfitting three Starlink-equipped aircraft, announcing that 12 Boeing 777-300s will be upgraded with this innovative service by the end of 2024. Furthermore, Qatar Airways has committed to equipping its entire Boeing 777 fleet with Starlink technology by 2025 one year ahead of schedule with plans to extend the rollout to its Airbus A350 fleet in the summer of 2025.
