SeaLead introduces the Mediterranean Gulf Express service
SeaLead has unveiled a new direct liner service, the Mediterranean Gulf Express (MGX), aimed at enhancing connectivity between the Middle East and Mediterranean regions via the Red Sea.
The MGX service will run weekly, establishing dedicated routes between Jebel Ali in the UAE, Djibouti, Aliaga in Turkey, and Damietta in Egypt. The service will launch with its first vessel departure on 24 October.
“Our MGX service is a vital enhancement in connecting the Middle East, Red Sea, and Mediterranean markets, providing our customers with faster transit times and broader market access,” said Suleyman Avci, Global CEO of SeaLead. “This expansion reinforces our position along key trade lanes and offers more efficient connections through the Red Sea.”
The MGX service’s port rotation includes the key hubs of Aliaga and Damietta, facilitating connections to North Africa and the Mediterranean. With an expected transit of just six days from Jebel Ali to Djibouti and 14 days to Turkey, the service will also feature a feeder network from Turkey, linking with Libya, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Senegal, Spain, Greece, Bulgaria, Georgia, Lebanon, and Romania.
Chandra Chigulury, SeaLead’s General Manager for the Middle East and Africa, added, “The MGX service meets our customers’ need for efficient and dependable access to Mediterranean and North African markets. With the addition of new feeder connections, this weekly service not only accelerates transit but also expands trade opportunities across key markets in these regions."
