Sri Lankan Airlines & flydubai announce new Interline Agreement

SriLankan Airlines and flydubai have announced a new interline agreement, effective September 9, 2024, that will enhance travel options between Sri Lanka, the UAE, and beyond.

This agreement will allow passengers flying with SriLankan Airlines to connect seamlessly via Dubai to over 30 destinations served by flydubai, including unique locations such as Bucharest, Istanbul, Krakow, Mombasa, Naples, Sofia, Tashkent, and Zanzibar. Conversely, flydubai passengers will gain access to 16 destinations in SriLankan's extensive network, covering Southern and East Asia, the Middle East, and Australia, including Melbourne, Seoul, Singapore, and Tokyo.

Richard Nuttall, CEO of SriLankan Airlines, stated, "We are thrilled to partner with flydubai to offer our passengers seamless connections and enhanced travel convenience. This partnership aligns with our goal of expanding our network and global reach, providing customers with more travel choices and flexibility. We look forward to working with flydubai and welcoming their passengers on board to experience the unique SriLankan journey."

Flydubai CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith added, "We are excited about this interline agreement with SriLankan Airlines, which will strengthen trade and tourism between the UAE and Sri Lanka. Since our operations began in Sri Lanka in 2010, we have seen steady demand for travel between our two countries. Dubai remains a key aviation hub, and this agreement will open up new travel opportunities for our passengers, offering them more options to explore the world with ease."

The interline agreement will provide passengers with the convenience of single-ticket itineraries, through-checked baggage, and synchronized flight schedules. Bookings can be made through the airlines' websites SriLankan Airlines and flydubai as well as through travel agents and online travel agencies.
